Running Shogo on Windows 10
By default, if you try to launch Shogo from Steam and change your display mode, you get this error.
No renderers were found. This problem is usually due to DirectX 6 not being properly installed. Please verify that DirectX 6 is installed and re-run the installer if necessary.
Which means you won't be able to change your display resolutions...
However you may still be able to launch the game and play it just fine!
But there are 2 major issues that still remain...
- There is no in-game music, only main menu music
- Whenever your screen flashes from taking damage, explosions, etc. Only the bottom left triangle of your screen is flashed.
Fixing all these issues is quite simple, you just need to go to your game files, then set Shogo.exe to run in compatibility mode for Windows 98 / Windows Me.
However, this causes a new issue where sound may stutter when pausing and unpausing the game.
There is also a noticable border around the screen that takes up a bit of space, preventing you from seeing the names of talking characters. Download Borderless Gaming here and add Shogo.exe to it.

Also DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME ON HARD!!
All enemies have near 100% accuracy and you will find yourself getting killed instantly while peeking around a corner. It is almost reminiscent of Halo 2 on LASO. Even if you manage to get through the entire game like I did, the boss fight at the end is impossible, as after his introductory cutscene, he will immediately kill you in one shot. There is nothing you can do but press the 'Say' key and type 'mpgod'. Please play this game on normal.
